Feature Request - Super Scene Drive Modes

Post by jkanzel »

Hi all,

My use for Daslight is for mobile DJ/small shows. I've found one of the best features of Daslight for me is the BPM drive mode for scenes, allowing them to sync with the music. Furthermore, through tinkering and reading through the forum I've figured out how to create cues by chaining scenes with jumps together. For example, I can make a chain of 4 or 8 bar "cue" scenes and jump link my control scenes from the chain. So far this seems to work well, but it's quite tedious to go through the jump dialog for each scene in the cue chain.

When you think about it, this chain of jump scenes is like a hacky version of a super scene. Just using a super scene instead would be much better, setting up these cues by dragging my scenes into the super scene timeline. But this is where the issue arises... super scenes live in the time domain. There's no way to set super scenes with drive modes like regular scenes.

I've seen some chatter from other users about this feature...

I see there is some response from the developers. In June 2023, the second linked post, juls states that the feature is being explored for best implementation. (Hi juls!) So with this post, consider the eager interest I have in the feature and I would be happy to hear update or progress news.

Cheers,
JK
