Daslight 4 - 3D Visualizer wont open

Postby nightbomber96 » Thu Jan 16, 2020 12:06 pm

Hey there,

after updating Daslight4 to the newest version (JAN 13/2020) im no longer able to start the 3D Visualizer.
Already tried to reinstall Daslight.

Windows Update and GPU Driver are on the newest Version aswell.

Specs:
AMD Radeon Vega 56
AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
16GB RAM

Any solutions for the Problem?

And one more thing. I was just testing this software. I have no dvc4 gold yet.
In the older version the 3D Visualizer didnt work perfectly. After adding more lights to the scenes it sometimes completly messed up the channels. So for example the Tilt channel changed to the Dimmer Channel. But only in the visualizer.
Maybe that was a problem with a corrupt template profile?

Best regards,

Simon

Hello

Does the 3D visualiser work from the previous release from 23/04/2019?

The 3D visualiser requires OpenGL 3.1.
*NOTE: we have had several reports of the Intel HD Graphics 3000 adapter not properly working with OpenGL 3.1*

An easy way to check your GPU settings is to download and install the GPU Caps Viewer (link below). The GPU & OpenGL tabs will show you the information you'll need. Also good to see if your computer has two GPU's and check that the 3D is not automatically using an inbuilt lower spec card that's not supported.
http://www.geeks3d.com/dl/get/530

It's for information purposes only. It will tell you if your GPU supports OpenGL 3.1. It should also tell you if you have more than one GPU, as you may find a 2nd/onboard graphics card and the 3D is trying to use that hence the problems.

Regarding the fixture profile behaviour, what fixture profile are you using? And in what channel mode?

Kind Regards

Thanks for your response.

I have deinstalled the 13/01/2020 version and have installed the 23/04/2019 version.
3D Visualizer still wont open in a existing or new project. The spinning wheel is just spinning for a short moment, but wont open the program.

Hi

I have the same problems. I tested it on my system with:
Ryzen 3600
AMD RX 5500 XT
MSI x570

and i tested it also with an nvidia 1050ti. I figured out that it works fine with intel cpu's, because a friend of mine testet it on his pc with an i5 9600k an nvidia 2060 super graphicscard and it also worked on my mac mini late 2012 with an i5 dual core 2,5 ghz.

if anyone knows something else i would apreciate an reply, because i need an second PC and i would like to know if it is a problem based on Hardware or sowftware. let's be honest i would like to build the new system with an Ryzen 9 3950x because its way better and cheaper than an intel.

Hi,
you should try if the crash happens to specific fixtures. My problem was that my Fog Machine caused the crash. I removed it from my Fixture list and than it was working. I already reported this problem via ticket. Maybe it helps you too :)

Had the same problem. I changed the 3d model in the scanlibrary from fog machine to something else.
