I'm designing a system for an exhibition where a video (AVI) is played on a plasma screen, but I need to trigger various lighting effects at specific parts of the video. Can I link my Das Light controller to a media player on one laptop so that either the video somehow controls the Das Light programme or at least somehow link the start of each programme (like when you insert a video into PowerPoint). This would need to loop all day, so would need to reset each time.
Thanks,
Paul Hyland
Best way to trigger lx cues from video feed

There is no timeline function on Daslight, but if you create scenes for various parts of the video, then create a timer scene for each scene with a jump to next scene at the end of the time scene, however this does involve a stop watch , to work out where to put the timer commands.
You also need to use the first scene to start the timers and the video to sync the whole thing, I used keyboard shortcuts to start the whole timer banks and the video start scene.
As for looping, not sure this is possible.
