Fx pan and tilt problems

Ok I start by selecting my 4 scanners which have had pan and tilt swopped in the set up page for ease of control.

I now create a pan side to side movement. click generate, say yes to all the new, unecessary non-understandable questions.

activate my new scene and get 4 scanners swinging backwards and forwards. So I guess the pan and tilt set up screen does not correspond to the Fx generator. really poor . can this be resolved??

and before you suggest creating the same effect by un clicking swop pan - tilt first and then resetting after the generator does not work either.
