Bug: MIDI-recognition

Post by LiWi »

If you map a midi-command with a Palette it only takes efekt in further usage while this Palette is selected. Therefore it Looks like midi is not working.
If you map a midi-command dirctly to a midi-channel under fader+all then all midi-links take effect.

But upon Startup daslight does not react to fader-movements (midi-cc-commands) unless you moved that fader from 0 to 127 and back to 0 (sometimes several times) or moved that fader manually in the Software.
we have that Problem with our x-touch and also with midi-command through various midi-interfaces like miditech 4x4 or MidimanAE. Therefore it seems to ban an controller-Independent Bug.
Why should one use a midi-Controller if one has to use the Software first? Then you could do everything using the Software and dont Need a Controller.

As Long as this bug isnt solved using midi is Nothing but frustrating

Hello,

Well this now depends on a "setting" you can edit in the preferences window. You can now chose to either only affect selected fixtures or affect all fixtures.

Hope this helps.

In my Opinion different behaviors of daslight should be selectabele:

1. Controller-Mode for every Midi Input and Output:
a) Clasic Controller: to avoid jumps a fader-movement has to pickup a software-fader. therefore dasligt should not react to fader-movements until the value Matches the software-value
b) Motorfaders: upon Startup and every Change of a value by software-faders the new value is sent to the midi-Controller. therefore faders move live while Fading and are always in the correct Position. Daslight should always react to changes on midi-Input

2. Control-Mode for Midi-Input
a) Channel-Mode: Independent of assigning using Palette or fader-view and Independent of assigning using selected fixtures or the all-channel-view this midi-Input Always controls the selected channels using the entered Formula, no matter which fixture or Palette is selected
b) Palette-Mode: the midi-command controls selected fader-commands or Palette-commands (like RGB, X/Y,...) of the selected fixtures. Therefore you can use the same color-wheel or Joystick to Control different fixtures depending on the momentary fixture-selection.
