Problem to save a .ssl file
I would like to build a new fixture, it´s a noname MH from china.
The problem is to add the pan/tilt function in a special order.
Means Ch7 pan8bit
Ch8 tilt 8bit
Ch9 pan16bit
Ch10 tilt 16bit
In this order I got a warning in the left window 8bit channel is missing - it is not allowed to save this file.
In the library I found a MH (futurelight PHS-250 pro) the order of pan/tilt channel are nearly the same.
I tried to modyfy this fixture for my MH, but I got the same warning I could not safe this file.
Is there a way to create my MH?
Hope you can give me an solution for my problem.
I am using Daslight4 Vers. Aug 16
Thanks for now
Thomas

Re: Problem to save a .ssl file
Hi Thomas, this is a Bug in the latest Scan Library editor which will be fixed in the next Beta.
In the meantime to make a new fixture profile request :
- Log on to the customer area http://store.daslight.com/ssl
- Click "New fixture request”
- Follow the instructions and do not forget to attach the technical documentation of the fixture.
Please note : if you do not have an account you will need to create one to submit a request.

Re: Problem to save a .ssl file
Thank you for your information
First I will try it myself - it´s a challenge.
I often found .ssl files in the library which are working not properly.
The editor is easy to understand and so I always found a solution for my light projects.
Thanks for reply

Re: Problem to save a .ssl file
Hello together,
I made a new test building the fixture in the library editor.
It is still impossible to create a .ssl file which includes the pan, tilt, pan 16bit , tilt 16bit DMX channels in this order.
Version: May 04 2017

Hey,
What you need to do is :
- create the pan/tilt channel
- right click Pan channel, chose "16 bit" (see image)
- ...same for Tilt channel
In case this wouldn't work for you, please find a file containing the first channels of your fixture profile, attached to this post.
Hope this helps.

Re: Problem to save a .ssl file
Hi TomHat,
thank you for that - I know to define the 16bit mode for Pan and Tilt.
The problem is to bring it in the special order.
I wondering how you were able to save the attached file.
If I load this file into the library editor - and want to save it to another name - I got the same message " Save error ...etc"
So let me do some tesst with this file in Daslight - I will let you know what happend.
Thanks for your effort

Re: Problem to save a .ssl file
Hello,
Just noticed, there is indeed a bug if you re-open the file. Scan library doesn't interprete pan/tilt channels correctly. What you need to do is to delete the pan/tilt and micro pan/tilt channels, and create them again.
I have reported this to the developper in charge of ScanLibrary support, we should get a fix very soon.

Re: Problem to save a .ssl file
Hello TomHat,
yes this little trick helps to save the new created file.
But when I use this file in Daslight the 16bit pan channel doesn´t work - I made a short video.
Hope I can sent it to you via email.

Re: Problem to save a .ssl file
Hey,
Okay, so to sum it all up, there is indeed a bug in ScanLibrary Editor when creating channels linked with others (micro pan/tilt, speed....). If you change the order of these channels, the link is not correctly updated and you end up with an error everytime you'll open your file again.
I have passed this on to the developper in charge of ScanLibrary Editor. We'll release a fixed version as soon as possible.
@brimborium, I hope the file I sent you will do the trick.

Re: Problem to save a .ssl file
Hello,
a new version daslight4 - Okt 17 2017 - with the editor still the same problem.
I could build my file, but when reloading the file into the editor I got error messages.
Pan/tilt don´t work in edit and live mode.

Hey,
Indeed, the latest setup we uploaded doesn't yet contain the fix for this bug.
Sorry about that. Did you need to fix something more to your file ?
