Difference between 3D and real output

Post by marc »

Hello,

I have purchased 8 Eurolite LED SLS- 7 X 3 w TCL spots. This are slimline led RGB spots.

I can use them in 4 different DMX protocols. 3,4,5 and 6 dmx channels.
Here is my problem.
On the Eurolite scan library i only found a 5 channel dmx led par. So no specific .ssl file for this device.
I like to programm my scenes without putting up all my gear so i use the 3D programm.

Now i get a difference between the 3D and in realtime.

It works fine for the first 4 dmxchannels RGB and dimmer. The fift channel is a combination of sound activate 001 to 005 and strobe function 11 - 255.
It shows the strobe (not the right speed but ok...) but when using the soundmode the collors in 3D don't change.
Can this be changed? So the 3 d programm knows which collor is used in real time or is there no signal from the device back to the computer?
You see, DMX protocol is rather new for me.

Then i tried to build my own 6channel fixture. This works fine on my device but also shows the RGB and dimmer on the 3D screen. All the programms don't work in 3D (Logical because i wouldn' t know how i can get these programms in the fixture builder.

So who can help me out with these two questions:
1) can programms be shown in the 3D screen
2) does someone has the right .SSL file for my device (6 channel DMX)

Any help would be apreciated
(sorry for the spelling mistakes...)

Hi Mark

1) can programms be shown in the 3D screen

No. Standard DMX is only one way. So there is no way of knowing what the internal programs inside the fixture do.

2) does someone has the right .SSL file for my device (6 channel DMX)

You can request an SSL profile from your user account at www.daslight.com/logme
