Fader control

Post by sparkymarkyracing »

Hi Guys, Can anyone help, can i use an external desk (midi or dmx ) to control the faders while i program, (so instead of using the mouse and the faders on the screen i use the external interface)

Thanks Mark.

Hi Mark

It is possible to patch a DMX input fader to an output fader. It is also possible to patch a MIDI message to an output fader, activate a scene, change the speed of a scene and a few other options. More info here:

no it is not possible, because once a channel slider has been assigned either to midi or DMX in, it is in override or HTP only mode, so for programming it is not going to work.

As Simon says DMX in or Midi in can be used to control scene speed faders, or even to activate scenes, but channels linked to control can be set up for recording scenes but then afterwards you will need to disconnect the slider from control and re introduce auto green button mode for the channel.

hope this helps, better than a one liine answer.
