Time line finally possible.

Post by Richard CSL »

Hi all. recently had a project that required a time line and I have worked a way round doing it, so I thought I'd let you all know.

First create a group for the "song".
start posns. fade up. chorus. verse. fade out.

now create a second group with 4 scenes all set to one loop.
now link the jump to each of the above scenes (except start posns).

(I also added the mp3 scene enable media on the bottom of this group.)
now set the hold time to the required time to start each scene.

reduce the second group in live mode. enable your first group start scene.
now press the group start all scenes button in the group heading bar.
hey presto time line.!!

ps you need to go through the song in windows media player and watch the timing for the song, as to when to start the scenes.

Ingenious idea

Hi Richard CSL,

I have tried it and I think that this is an ingenious idea. You cannot only realize a non-graphical timeline, you can also realize whole dynamic sequences, starting more than one scene at a time, stopping scenes (if you start an empty scene in an exclusive group) and so on and so on.

The one and only disadvantage is that there is no possibility to loop, which leads me to another/additional idea.

Therefore please read and support my feature request for DVC2/DVC3 and DVS.

P.S.: By the way, how did you manage the start of a MP3 within a scene “(I also added the mp3 scene enable media on the bottom of this group.)“ ???

Bye for now

to start an mps from within a scene is easy. in the live tab right click a fresh blank scene.

in the properties you will see a dialogue box for multimedia. just enable and point the drop down box to your mp3 file .
