midi system Daslight DVC 512

I have a lighting installation and would like to control it with the DVC 512 All music the shot with Logic Audio on a Macbook Pro. Then I emagic 8x8 midi interface.
How to DVC emagic midi interface software connects to receive the midi data that you send from Logic?
Has any hardware midi input?
I guess I'll have to create a track in Logic Audio assigning a midi channel, and from there create through notes and events control everything I want to do the lights.
