Function suggestions & Bug reports

Post by jobjansen »

Function suggestions
1: MIDI mapping on scene triggering > BPM > Step on BPM.
2: MIDI mapping on scene triggering > BPM > Scene on BPM.
3: MIDI mapping on scene triggering > BPM > Fade on BPM.
4: MIDI mapping on scene Time signatures. Something like the function "next scene" and "previous scene" in a scene group.
5: Configure a home position for moving fixtures (0..255) in patch mode.
6: Configure a position offset for moving fixtures (0..255) in patch mode. For example when some moving fixtures are physically placed in an angle relative to other moving fixtures, but you want to align them.
7: Automatic start of selected scenes, when Daslight starts it's project.
8: Overruling scene whereby the activated fixture channels overrule all other scenes (so not LHP or HSP).
9: Copying an effect in the effect generator. For example, when you want to create 1 scene with 2 moving fixture groups with the same pan/tilt shape.
10: A MIDI output message as a pulse from the BPM indicator, so a light from a MIDI controller can act as a BPM indicator.

Bug reports
1: When selecting "Invert Pan" or "Invert Tilt" or "Swap Pan / Tilt" the pan tilt faders from the fixtures gets activated in all scenes.
2: When a fixture is programmed in a scene, and gets removed from the patch, faders from the DMX channel still get activated when triggering the scene. Even when a new fixture is patched on the same channel.
3: When in Editing mode, fixture channels get activated in the selected scene when the channels are MIDI mapped and the fader of the MIDI controller moves. Accidental activation of the channels in a scene is possible when in editing mode.

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback. I will add some of your suggestions to our list of ideas for future versions of our software.

Bugs 2 and 3 don't seem to be bugs to me.

MIDI pairing is done on the software faders, not really on the channels. That explains why the fader is still paired after you have unpatched your fixture.

MIDI mapping is made to help editing values. It'll work the same way in EDIT as in LIVE modes. Some of our users wouldn't like having to manually activate channels in live to unlock MIDI input on their sliders in EDIT mode.

We'll look into BUG 1 and come up with something for next release.

Again, thank you for your feedback.

Best regards,
TomHat
