Daslight4 Crash

Hi,

Daslight4 crashed when trying to generate an effect.
I've got this bug often. I cannot determine the action to reproduce it.
It seems to be at random.

I cannot trust this software anymore for "serious" shows.
And still no working 3D visualiser with my graphic card. I guess it will never work.

The basic idea is great, the interface very attractive and functions are very easy to use.
Unfortunately, the technical developement is not as it should be...

It's really a sad situation.

Sorry you encountered this crash and you believe Daslight 4 is no longer suitable for your professional shows. Be sure that we work daily on the stability of our softwares.
As for the 3D visualiser, as you know, the problem you're experiencing comes from the incompatibility between your graphic card and our software. It is something we are trying to fix too.

We take your feedback into consideration and will try our best to fit your needs better.

Hi,

Here is another crash.
It happened when a fader was moved manually with the mouse.
It seems to be at random. I cannot find a rule to reproduce it.
At first sight, more likely to happen when an effet has been selected before or still open.

Another one.
During the same action : moving the dimmer fader of the fixture in Live, during an effect generation.
About 10 effects were created successfully before the crash.

According to some web info, BEX could be Buffer Overflow Exception.
Is there something wrong with memory handling in the software ?

This morning when I was preparing the show, there were falls about 20 times! After moving the show file to the folder with the installed program, there were no drops. Perhaps this will help someone.
Last official software version.

It chrashed in the last two shows during the show. And it’s no komplex show whits Tausends steps or thomething like that.

I think it crashes sometimes if I use the dimmer fader for my LED for my background color

Restart is blackout and waiting until everything is loading

That’s not nice

Is it true that it would help if you put the file into the daslight Folder?

Hello,

As fas as I know, the show file may be saved anywhere. It is loaded in memory during the performance. So, the choice of the folder won't change anything to the crashes.

In former days they said: "Never change a running system".
And so I´m now working with Daslight. No changes during a running show !
The problem with Daslight is, that I know only one error that crashes for sure.
All others, and there are many, come while programming like flashes out of the blue sky without any chance to reproduce it and to find a workarround. Especially the experiment to build an linear fan usually runs here on a crash.
I´m using many linear fans, but they all are manually programmed !
Meanwhile I use to save all changes in relative short intervals. That means waiting nearly 2 minutes for about 38 MB showfile and this about 5 to 8 times in one hour.
My way to avoid to switch to an alternate software is the combination with a standard controller via a DMX merger.
If Daslight would crash during a show, I need immediately a controllable light. Surely much more simple but working !
Daslight needs with my showfile over 3 minutes to restart. In a show it would feel like half an hour !
