Daslight 2 light project compatabilty with 4

Hello
I have been using Daslight 2 for years, and I want to fully upgrade to 4 but I wanted to see before I do so are the light projects compatible on the new version? I tried loading one up and It does not load correctly and I am worried that all my shows won't work. So when I load a show the fixture does not show in the universe (on DVC 4 beta) but the live shows i made do not load up on DVC4..says 'COULD NOT LOAD FILE'
Also to my knowledge the DV2 scanlibrary is SSL and DVC4 are SSL2..why wont DVC4 load the older ones?... I want to upgrade as the new version because it has more updated list of lights and fixtures compared to the older dvc2 version.. or is there a way i can update my dvc2 fixture list?

are the light projects compatible on the new version?

Yes, they are compatible with the new version. Only, there are a few things to know before you switch version:

• Old showfiles (DVC 1,2,3) don't contain as much data as Daslight 4 showfiles, so opening your showfile in Daslight 4 might not give exactly the same result as in older software.
• Showfiles saved in Daslight 4 will no longer be compatible with older software. So make sure to save all your files into a backup folder before importing your showfiles into Daslight 4.
• Daslight 4 better imports DVC3 showfiles, so I would recommend you to open your DVC2 showfiles with DVC3 first, save, and reopen them with Daslight 4. I know this might sound strange, but the reason this works better is that DVC3 adds a few default settings Daslight 4 uses.

In fact, you can get all existing SSL files from our website : https://store.daslight.com/fr/ssl

lastly I am now using DVC4..and this error pops up when using the 3D visualization...can you help me with this please?

This looks like a problem we have already worken on in the past. Could you please let me know the model of your graphic card ?
Have you downloaded the latest Beta version of Daslight4 on our website ? Or the Official ?

Hey,

Thank you for the info. Could you pelase try using Daslight 4 Beta available on our website ? This version contains lots of fixes for EasyView 2. It is very possible that the bug has already been fixed in this version.
