Multiple Daslight instances
We have discovered that running more than two Daslight DVC4 (DVC Gold) instances on two different computers (with no common fixtures or universes) will cause Daslight to lag, slow and freeze when sending ArtNET commands rapidly. For example We can turn a Martin MH-5 on and off or change color or gobo, but trying to run a multi step scene, such as a Pan Tilt effect, will freeze the program. We are attempting to isolate the VLAN's but given that this four DVC system is supposed to use a common iPad controller this will cause issues as the WiFi connection will have to be switched for each room. Is there a way around this or a planned bug fix?
Re: Multiple Daslight instances
To be honest we have not tested with VLAN's however if it's a simple bug we can test and try to find a solution for you. But first we will need to find out exactly what is causing the problem.
To break things down please try the following steps:
-Try 1 computer with 1 Daslight 4 open with 1 ArtNet device
-Open Daslight 4 on a 2nd computer and disable all devices
-Does it lag?
-If not, add a device, does it lag now?

Re: Multiple Daslight instances
Not only does it lag, but we have discovered, now that we are attempting to operate the systems simultaneously, that all Daslight4 instances interfere with each other. The lag was occuring when more than two instances were open and running on their respective PC's but only one was actively being used for control.
Even though they are supposed to be operating different universes, room 1 universe 1, room 2 universe 2, room 3 universe 3 and Room 4 universe 4, all four instances cross talk and operate each other. This appears to be a broadcast issue. We have isolated the four rooms by blocking network traffic across the switch ports for the four areas and associated devices, but this seems to be a MAJOR bug. I am thinking that this ties in to the fact that the software defaults to all universes active and ticked in the Virtual device setup whenever the program is opened and will not save the discrete universe settings, especially for the DVC4 Gold interface. For now we have the system working and the client is very happy with the EasyRemote interface, but if he wants to expand the system into other areas of the yacht we will need a better solution.

Re: Multiple Daslight instances
Hitting the same issue here. Bought a second daslight gold for a different section of the building.
When we open both Daslight4 instances, they interfere with eachother and the second instance even removes port activitations on the first instance.
It feels like both devices somehow resolve back to the same IP address and there all the issues start.
Can you guys provide step by step information on how to set up 2 DMX controllers in live mode on the same external ip address?
