We've just put up a new beta version, here are the bug fixes since the previous release :

Hi!

Currently we're using v3.

1. Do you recommend using the new beta version or could this end bad when the party started? :-/
2. Will new save files (from the beta) work with v3 for installing the older again in case of emergency?
3. Any other advices we users should pay attention BEFORE installing the beta?

I cannot load the old show. Daslight crashes when I try to load it.
Maybe something to do with that I have own fixtures in show?

We would always recommend using the latest beta version. We're not adding new features just bug fixtures so it's always best to use the latest beta.

Both programmes can be used side by side with both files working on both beta and last official release.

We would recommend as you're installing the new beta, when it asks what folder you want to install to, rename the folder so you have both installed. That way you still have the original installed as well as the new beta.

Any news about old shows crashing when opening in the new version of the software?

I think its something about have your own lights in the library??

I have an interesting experience with this beta, perhaps it may help solve the problems.

My observations: I use Daslight on 2 laptops with Win 8.1. One is used primarily for programming (big screen) and audio, the other one is a high res. 12” (Dell XPS) touch screen ultrabook which I use in the live acts. I have now started use extensively the remoteapp with Virtual Router.

So, and except from the many crashes of the app, I do can program the app although important features are still missing like copying elements to another page.

However, when I want to continue the next day on the same machine, Daslight usually crashes when loading the show file (crash reports have been sent). When I go to the other PC, it works, although some button pictures (imported pictures into the app) are lost. Once re-loaded on another PC it will then also work again on the other PC. This happens with both PCs vice versa. Sometimes it works that way, too: For speed I use the option load last file at start. To avoid crashes, I have installed an identical 2nd DasLight on my Show PC, which does not use the autoload. I load an earlier file or any file that had worked before, and the load the actual file. It works in many cases but not always.

There may also be a driver issue involved, perhaps the program is not closed properly: The interface sometimes still shows “PC”, but should display “0I” (only visible with Gold+ versions).

Very strange. I hope that DVC 4 will resolve these problems.

Added a few hours later: In my case there seems to be at least also an Exit/ interface problem: I restarted the PC and it still displayed "PC", and DVC crashed with the last file opening. I took the USB cable out and back in, then it worked again.

Hello,

I cannot install DVC3 on Windows 10 64 bits.

I just downloaded the DVC3_setup.exe from your website and I'm stuck with the message "Please do not rename the EXE file".

I tried also to run the installer as administrator without any success.

Do you have any solution?

I also have the same problem with Windows 10 64-bit ...
Previous versions are installed instead regularly.

You can do anything?

Fixed !!!

I had just finished writing the previous post ... then I tried to rename the file to "DVC3_setup-exe" to "DVC3_setup_beta.exe" and so installs ...
