Index button

Post by the-hubmaster »

Hello guys,
probably it is a silly question but I do not understand what the new 'Index'-button does. Can anybody explain me what it does, please? :?:

Sure, I need to add this to the manual. Basically when you create an effect with the FX generator, the effect will be created in DMX address order. The index button allows you to create an effect in any order you like.
-click the index button
-select your fixtures in the order you want
-open the FX generator and your effect will be created in this order

yes I have, but that does not work for me.
When I press the button, I can not use the Fx generator for moving lights.

Are you sure you're not in live mode?
In live mode the FX generator is disabled

Yes I'm sure! Have chosen the moving lights.
Can not create circular motion, see Picture!

Strange, this must be a bug.
On matrixes you also can't use the index function. Also a bug.
And i always patch my LED Pars and strips as matrix, for creating symetrical effects.

after you have selected the fixture order, switch back to normal selection mode and the fixture order is saved. You will then be able to open the FX generator

Is it possible to change the index independend of the different hardware tyes?
For example you have 4 LED TRI PAR and 2 LED Flood Panel lights, is it possible to set the index:

DMX 1-3: LED TRI PAR -> Index: 1
DMX 4-6: LED TRI PAR -> Index: 2
DMX 7-9: LED Flood Panel -> Index: 3
DMX 10-12: LED Flood Panel -> Index: 4
DMX 13-16: LED TRI PAR -> Index: 5
DMX 17-19: LED TRI PAR -> Index: 6

At the moment, I can only change the index order of the same hardware type.
