Please start by downloading and installing the latest DVC2 version. This is Jul6 2010.
1. connect the interface, wait a minute
2. Go to tools.exe which can be found in the daslight root directory, select firmware and update the firmware
3. Wait 2 minutes whilst the firmware is updated the the interface resets
4. Close tools.exe, then start DVC2
Let me know if DVC2 or tools.exe do not detect the interface

Hi,
I have a pretty similar problem updating the DVC2 software:
I use a new notebook and I need the actual midi control features.
My interface:
DASLIGHT DVC 2 GOLD DMX 512 bought at 11/4/2006
Serial A8507660
Firmware Nov 23 2004 from a firmware.exe downloaded in oct 2007
Win7/32Bit
The actual version 12/13/2010 ist not running because system shows error when connectiing the interface to usb port.
I do some analyzing. I install the original drivers from CD and windows shows the interface running without any problems. But DVC2 do not recognize the interface and leave in "Demo Mode". I simply install and deinstall all my archived downloaded versions of DVC2 and detect the last running software is from may 2007. Only that version shows the connected interface. The july-version 2007 do not detect the interface anymore.
Running the latest version of the "Tool" do also not detect my interface. So any update of the firmware is not possible.
What can I do to make the actual software/driver running? Is there another way updating the firmware?
regards
GB

This is complete garbage customer service. I don't understand why there isn't a greater outcry out there for a 64-bit driver. It's not like there have been major advances in the DMX512 protocol. Make us a 64-bit driver damn it! We paid good money for these controllers, and expected them to last!
Computer technology evolves rapidly, and companies should keep up with that. The consumer shouldn't have to buy new hardware or downgrade their system as the only two options. What BS.
