Best option is to give yourself a blank scene at the end of the group. this can be used to get in and out of the editor tab, without the lights flashing to the last edited scene. so always come in and out of editor via a blank scene. once in the editor you can access the current scene for the positi...

Best solution is before importing the scenes from the old show, move all the fixtures onto a higher universe. Now import the scenes, now move the fixtures from the higher universe to where they are on the patch , note this will eliminate any programming you have for these dmx addresses, so merge can...

You also have to realise that a moving head does not react in the same way as a moving mirror.

A circle FX will generate a figure of 8 movement on a moving head.
If you reduce the size of the movement to about a quarter then you will see a circle Fx on the floor.

DVC 3 is a superb product, it was probably released without enough testing, and probably should just have been released as a beta test version, and dual functionality on DVC2 interfaces until all the bugs were sorted. However it is out there, and you can still use DVC2 on the 3 interfaces (AFAIK). a...

in DVC3 the release general tab is default, this means only one scene at a time will be active.
un check this in the properties panel in the editor page.

have you checked the general tab sliders in moving mode to see if the software is sending a slider to the top. also be aware some fixtures use values 128 upwards for strobing. Check that at full on the slider is at 128 and not 255.

No your fixture profile is safe, if you look in the scanlibrary you should find it at the end of the list.

If your show was edited and saved as demo this will be its name, to change the name you have to use "Save as".

ahh there is the problem, the show is still in DVC 2 directory, which you have imported/opened from within DVC3 but not saved it back to the new DVC 3 directory.

sounds like it would be best to uninstall the program , and start again, when you do this your data is actually safe and does not get deleted.

where have you last saved your show?

it might be not in the right directory.

or if the last save was to a usb pen drive, that is where the next opening of the software will look, so if the usb is removed there will be no show, this will now load up a new blank.

have you tried looking in the general tab with allow the moving slide option to on, and see what the actual output is doing? this will tell you if it is the software or not. It sounds like this may be a fault in the fixture? also try unpatching the fixture (dont save, auto save off) and just moving ...

What O/S are you using? vista, XP, 7, 8??

try uninstalling the drivers, then reconnect the interface and let them reload. (XP)

or download the latest drivers from the website and again un-install and reload.

you should find that the only component dammaged will be the DMX transmit IC chip. This is an 8 pin device close to the socket. This can be replaced with a standard DMX chip found in any DMX head or other working unit.

make sure the chip has 7S in the number, can't remember the full number.

try un installing the drivers, then re installing with the software not open.
you may have to look for the drivers seperately because windows 8 will not load tham from the device like XP would.

I think the drivers can be found on the download page of Daslight.com.
