As far as I know, this is how it works.

The software is free, so you can install it on as many computers as you wish, for offline work for example.
However, only one computer at a time can be connected to the USB interface, for running the actual show through DMX.

Yep, you're right. I've just made a test with my APCmini.

In my opinion, Daslight should not block any MIDI device that is NOT selected in the preferences at startup, but just leave it available for any other application requiring it.
