OK, thank you!
I think the term "Beat GO" is very confusing. It should be more along the lines of "Click GO", as it has nothing to do with actual music beats. But that is something for the devs or product designers to decide.
Thanks!

Re: What is Beat GO?
Ah, so "Beat Go" has nothing to do with actual beat detection / synchronization, like with tapping or audio detection via mic. The only thing it does, is to eventually start all scenes, which have "Beat Go" set as its driving mode, or have these scenes skip to the next step, when...

Re: What is Beat GO?
Ah, OK, that explains the "Go" button vs the tap. But that does not explain, yet, what this means for the driving mode of a scene. There I can decide between "Beat Go", "BPM" and "Pulse". What does setting it to "Beat Go" do differently than setting ...

Re: What is Beat GO?
Thanks for getting back to me, but let me clarify See the attached screenshot. I'm talking about the "Go" button vs. the tap button. What do these do differently? I assume the "Go" button the relates to the "BeatGO" driving mode option in the scene options. There you ca...

Re: Feature Request - Jump Random
I added some effort, to reach my goal of letting my Showlaser play its patterns in a random fashion while still having control on which of these are played. See the results here: https://github.com/scaiandre/daslightMidi This is just a tiny script around the work of Tobias Erichsen's loopMidi. Thank...

Re: Feature Request - Jump Random
Thanks to ChatGPT I figured out how to control this from a small external script using loopmidi and python. Install https://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/loopmidi.html , start it and add a virtual device, name it "YourVirtualMIDIPortName" pip install mido python-rtmidi import mido from m...

Re: Daslight 5 / Features - Suggestions - Requests
@DjRasputin: You mentioned in another post, that you would be having a C# program triggering MIDI data to generate randomness. Do you mind sharing your ideas/code on this?DjRasputin wrote: ↑Sat Mar 19, 2022 12:29 am We have next scene, previous scene and custom scene to jump to next, why not to a random scene in the group ? Re: Feature Request - Jump Random
I'm looking for this as well. Actually, I was convinced that this would have to exist in the tool, and found it hard to believe it is not there. It sounds as something totally obvious to want and easy to implement in the way you suggested. There was even a user @DjRasputin mentioning in this post, t...

What is Beat GO?
Hi, I asked that already in a previous post, but it was not the main topic of the post and I got no answer on that. So, I'd like to dedicate a specific post to this question: What is BeatGo? How does it differ from the BPM option, when it is turned on? Or am I misunderstanding the UI and is, whateve...

Beat GO / BPM driven Super Scene
Hi, I want to create scenes and super scenes that are entirely beat driven. Especially for super scenes: Are there good explanations out there that explain if it's possible and how it's done? For the super scene I'm thinking about not having a time scaled timeline, but a beat scale, as you find it i...
